Disney Road Water Transmission Main MD Rte 175 to Disney Estates Circle
Anne Arundel County, Maryland
Wallace Montgomery (WM) is in the process of completing design for the Disney Road Transmission Main (100% plans due May/June 2010). WM’s responsibilities include alignment studies and reports, preliminary design, final plans and specifications, cost estimates and construction phase services for 1 mile of a 30-inch water transmission main adjacent to Fort Meade in Anne Arundel County. The project was initiated to improve the water service to the Airport Square Water Service Area and will connect the existing Transmission Main in MD Route 175 to a future Water Booster PumpStation and Water Storage Tank. When complete, the system will connect/ transfer water from the Kings Heights (330 Pressure Gradient) to both the Airport Square (350 Pressure Gradient) and Jessup (400 Pressure Gradient) Service Areas.
The project includes topographic surveys, geotechnical investigation, public outreach, as well as considerations for connections to existing mains, cathodic protection and maintenance of traffic on County and SHA Roadways. The project also involved design of two bore and jack crossings under large diameter multi-cell storm drain culverts including associated permits.
The project also includes design of 3000 linear feet of parallel 12-inch water distribution main, fire hydrants and 20 house connections along the same alignment to serve residents abutting Disney Road.
