Wallace Montgomery welcomes Darren O’Neill, PE, DBIA as an Associate focusing on Business Development in the Delaware-based offices and endeavors. Darren is recognized as an early innovator in implementing alternative delivery methods into DelDOT projects including A + B bidding; incentive/disincentives; design-build projects; P3 considerations; and CM/GC pilot programs.
Darren refined methods for creating transportation management plans before the construction stage, which ensured the project’s long-term viability while reducing the costs and adhering to the schedule. He converted DelDOT’s original toll facilities into highway speed EZ Pass lanes along I-95 and SR 1. Darren served as a Program Manager for nearly 26 years with DelDOT, where he managed many of the large corridor programs along I-95 and SR 1. State and national agencies have turned to Darren’s expertise and invited him to speak with them about technological and management best practices, and about partnering, to revitalize transportation systems. He has spoken about innovation at Design Build Institute of America regional and national conferences.
As an Associate in Business Development, Darren assumes responsibility for project management, leadership, training and marketing activities within his Department.
