Bundled Design-Build improvements project which include the construction of a new grade-separated pedestrian bridge over US 29 to address safety and mobility for motorists and pedestrians along the corridor. The structure also consists of elevated approach spans on either end of the main bridge crossing to reduce fill limits, and utilizes prestressed concrete beams to provide a low maintenance and sustainable solution. Drilled shaft foundations support the bridge and approach ramps, minimizing utility impacts and reducing construction costs. Value engineering optimized the ramp profile and alignment to reduce right of way needs and the limits of retaining walls and bridge spans, while maintaining structural efficiency.
