Completed an Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) study which led to the design and construction of a roundabout at the intersection of SR 34 (Spring Road), SR 850 (Valley Road), and Pisgah State Road (T-318) in Carroll Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. The proposed roundabout converted the existing two-way stop-controlled intersection into a signal lane roundabout with grading provided for a future right-turn bypass lane (determined by a sensitivity capacity analysis). The roundabout reduces mainline travel speeds, improves sight distance, reduces crash severity and mitigates excessive vehicular delays during peak travel periods.
